| Pipe Major BayBridge served active duty with the United States Air Force, Strategic Air Command, from 1970 to 1974, earning the rank of Staff Sergeant. Having served in time of war, Pipe Major BayBridge is authorized, by order of the Secretary of the Air Force (AFI 36-2903), to wear his USAF Service Dress Uniform while piping at military funerals and memorial services.
